Cookies
Overall, cookies remain a fundamental component of the web that continue to pose privacy and security risks for users. Both first- and third-party cookies are used for tracking, and while several web browsers (Brave, Safari, Firefox, etc.) have deprecated or limited third-party cookies, Google decided in 2025 to still support them in Chrome and deprecate most of their Privacy Sandbox proposals.
